In a world of constant stress and distractions, we have to develop skills to stay focused on the present moment. The simple act of stopping and taking deep breaths will slow your heart rate, decrease blood pressure and decrease the stress hormone cortisol. It is a great tool to learn to combat the stress of our busy lives. This is the first step in my daily routine! Before get up, or grab my phone, or anything else, I take 3 deep breaths to center my focus and calm my mind! I use this same technique throughout my day when things just get too crazy!!
